Ammendment #I says - "Congress shall make no law respecting an establisment of religion, or prohibiting the free excercise thereof, or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
What this means is that the Government will not establish a "national" church that you must attend and if you go against its teaching, you would be ostracized. The way the ACLU explains this is "separation of church and state" As you can see, that was an extreme stretch to even think that was the "original intent". The reason that people want this to be true is that it requires no accoutability. In other words, "if it feels good, do it". That is not at all how a responsible nation acts.
In fact, Senate bill # 909 that has passed the "House" does infact abridge our first ammendment rights.
Now lets move to Ammendment#II - it says,"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed"
What this means is that we already have the right to keep and bear Arms, but that the Congress may not change that right under any circumstances. It does not say that Congress gives us that right. HR 45 is trying to infringe that right.
These, my friends, are just some of the rights they are stripping from us. We must stand together to stop such Tyranny.
Call your Senators and Congressmen and make your voices heard. Remember, they work for us. They are currently acting out like drunken sailors doing whatever they like.
A letter received from a Congresswoman saying she didn't agree with us on an issue that we had called about, required another phone call reminding her, I didn't care about her personal opinion, she works for "the people". This too must be your voice.

Right on both counts. keep 'em coming!
Right on. Keep 'em coming
Ah a refresher of U.S. History, of course I doubt that today's schools are teaching the same U.S. History that I had when I was in high school. Not only is the government trying to stripped us from our Rights, but non-government personnel are actively at it like the media. Regardless if you're on the internet, watching, or reading, the media (or group of) that regulates what you post, comment, etc., will advise you that a word or phrase that you may have used is not allowed.
What most folks do not understand or "want to" see is that the NRA (National Rifle Association of America) even though they fight for the 2nd Amendment, indirectly they are also fighting to protect the entire Constitution...take one portion of the Constitution away and you will take all of it!
